Toni Alonso produces two Albariño wines from his small, one-man winery in Arbo, in the Condado do Tea subzone. His vineyards are located at 280 meters above sea level, planted on a southwest-facing slope that overlooks the Miño and Deva rivers and the mountains of the Peneda-Geres Park across the border in Portugal. His wines should be at the top of anyone’s list to seek out on a visit to Rías Baixas. Veigamoura and Veigamoura Quinquenio both stand out for long periods of lees and bottle aging, creating complex, unctuous wines with plenty of life and acidity.
