Coto de Gomariz

In the late 1970s, Ricardo Carreiro started recovering traditional grape varieties like Treixadura and began making wine near Barro, in the “Golden Mile” of the Avia River Valley that was historically home to monastery farms that made much of the region’s wine. His son, also called Ricardo, took over the winery in 2000 and hired winemaker Xosé Lois Sebio, who was succeeded by current winemaker Inma Pazos. Coto de Gomariz farms 28 hectares and produces both white and red wines.
