Azienda Poderi Sanguineto

While more of a working farm when Dora Forsoni’s father bought it, Poderi Sanguineto is still swarming with dogs, cats, roosters and geese. The 70-plus-years young Forsoni has long tended the 6 hectares of Prugnolo Gentile, Mammolo and Canaiolo Nero on her own. Her wines are surprisingly refined without being over polished. In the vintages it’s made, the Riserva is unapologetically steely and austere - but even the Rosso is age worthy here.
