Tenuta Sette Cieli

Reaching almost 400 metres in elevation, Sette Cieli boasts a view to Sassicaia’s original vineyard and the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea beyond. The estate, which sits mostly outside the Bolgheri DOC, was purchased by the Erika Ratti in 1994 to raise horses. She started planting vines in 2001 including some Merlot from Masseto.

Erika’s son Ambrigio is now at the helm with Elena Pozzolini as winemaker and CEO. Her star has been rising for a few years now as her discipline and rigour give wines with vigour, personality and freshness. Above all, the Scipio bottling demonstrates the work Elena has done perfecting ripeness for Cabernet Franc.
