Le Chiuse

Somewhere on the path between rising star and iconic, Le Chiuse was once part of the Biondi-Santi stable. When Fiorella was bequeathed the property, she leased it to her brother Franco who earmarked the grapes for the estate’s legendary Riserva. In 1991, his niece Simonetta Valiani reclaimed the vineyards to produce her own Brunello. She has since passed the baton to her son Lorenzo Magnelli. A natural talent, he is one of Montalcino’s most thoughtful and instinctive young winemakers crafting radiant, intricate Brunello. He has also broken the mold and waits a full 10 years after harvest before releasing a Riserva.
