After decades consulting for consortiums and renowned estates, superstar oenologist Carlo Ferrini put down his own roots (literally clones he selected for the famed Chianti Classico 2000 project) in the Mediterranean wilds of Montalcino’s highly regarded Sesta zone. He runs the boutique estate with his daughter Bianca. Expectations were high for this Sangiovese virtuoso – and have been effortlessly met. The most recent Brunello releases have been particularly captivating, succulent and gracefully assertive. Surely the brand-new, bespoke vinification facility has helped with the notable precision.
