Terre di Sovernaja

Growing up in the vineyard with his grandfather, Federico Montagnani combines deep viticultural roots with a creative mind and playful spirit. He launched his first wine in 2017, and the range is still a work in progress – but a fascinating one at that. Raised in concrete, Viti Sparse is a savoury, subtle yet sneaky Vernaccia di San Gimignano. His single plot, partially oak-aged Riserva called Assolo demonstrates more backbone and flesh. Among the handful of more esoteric bottlings, the IGT Bianco is a macerated white from 120-year-old vines of the almost-extinct Verdacchio grape - definitely a unicorn.
