Caravaglio, located on the island of Salina in the Aeolian archipelago, is a pioneering winery dedicated to enhancing Malvasia delle Lipari and promoting sustainable island viticulture. Founded by Nino Caravaglio, the estate manages around 20 hectares of terraced vineyards overlooking the sea, cultivated organically and often from very old bush-trained vines rooted in volcanic soils.
The hallmark wine is Malvasia delle Lipari Passito, made from sun-dried grapes and known for its aromatic intensity, balance of sweetness and acidity, and remarkable ageing capacity. Alongside this, Caravaglio produces dry Malvasia and small lots of indigenous varieties such as Corinto Nero, offering fresher, more contemporary interpretations of the Aeolian terroir.
Through a blend of tradition, minimal intervention winemaking, and respect for biodiversity, Caravaglio has become the leading name in Salina and a benchmark for the wines of the Aeolian Islands.
