Girolamo Russo is a small, family-run estate on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, founded in 2005 by Giuseppe Russo in memory of his father. With deep roots in the town of Passopisciaro, the winery cultivates old vines—many over 80 years—planted on volcanic soils between 650 and 780 meters above sea level.
Farming is organic, and the winemaking philosophy is gentle and transparent, allowing the nuances of each contrada to emerge. Russo’s interpretations of "Feudo", "San Lorenzo", and "Rampante" are among the most articulate voices of the volcano. The style is sober, thoughtful, and full of identity, making Girolamo Russo one of the leading estates in the new wave of Etna viticulture.
