Franchetti / Passopisciaro

Passopisciaro, founded in 2000 by Andrea Franchetti on the northern slopes of Mount Etna, played a key role in redefining the identity of Etna wines. Working with high-altitude old-vine Nerello Mascalese, the estate introduced a Burgundian approach to single-vineyard bottlings *Contrade*, highlighting the volcanic terroir's unique nuances.

The wines are tense, mineral, and age-worthy, marked by clarity, elegance, and depth. Passopisciaro’s style is precise yet soulful, bridging tradition and innovation with a strong sense of place. Today, the winery remains a benchmark for Etna and one of the most influential voices in contemporary Sicilian viticulture.
