Tenuta delle Terre Nere, founded in the early 2000s by Marco de Grazia, is a key driver of Etna’s modern renaissance. With organically farmed vineyards between 600 and 1,000 m, many centenarian and pre-phylloxera vines, the estate produces single-vineyard Nerello Mascalese and Carricante wines that reflect the nuances of volcanic soils and high-altitude climate. Spontaneous fermentations, measured macerations, and restrained use of large neutral oak yield wines of finesse, minerality, and ageing potential, making the estate a benchmark for site-driven expressions of Etna.
