Le Clos du Caillou

This estate’s 9ha of Châteauneuf are situated mainly on sandy soils in the lieux-dits of Les Bédines, La Guigasse and Pignan. When allowed to express themselves, these fine sands create wines of incredible finesse and harmony, as Le Clos du Caillou effortlessly demonstrates. Sensitive winemaking is part of their secret too, however – after all, every one of their Châteauneufs, even those grown on pebbles, share a certain balletic grace. Their white cuvée Les Safres is also very fine, and gains harmony and complexity with age. Impressive Côtes-du-Rhône too.
