Domaine Laurent Fayolle

Crozes-Hermitage is a huge appellation, so it pays to know an estate’s exact location, and that of its vineyards, in order to predict the style of wine in the bottle. Laurent Fayolle is based in Gervans, north of the hill of Hermitage, on the outcrop of granite that produces some particularly fine wines. His red and white Crozes are reliably delicious, and his red and white Hermitage cuvées from lieu-dit Les Diognières express the elegant, rather than powerful, side of the Hill.
