From its humble beginnings, as a source of simple rosé wines, to its rise to fame, as home to many of Italy’s most famous Super Tuscans, the Bolgheri DOC continues to evolve.

The biggest names are well-recognized on the world wine stage but the terroir of Bolgheri remains unknown to many.

Steeped in history and culture, the region boasts stunning landscapes and diverse wine styles and has all the tools necessary to join the ranks of Italy’s most famous wine regions.

Presenter: Andrea Eby, DipWSET, CSW, IWS

Andrea Eby is a manager, buyer and consultant at Banville & Jones Wine Co. in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

She is a senior educator and partner at the Wine & Drinks College of Manitoba where she instructs for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust, Wine Scholar Guild, and ASI accredited Sommelier programs.

Andrea holds the WSET Diploma with Distinction and was awarded the ProWein Scholarship in recognition of her accomplishments.

Andrea is a judge for the International Wine & Spirit Challenge, sits on the editorial board of the Cellar Door magazine and is an active member of the Manitoba chapter of the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers.

Andrea is passionate about the wines of Italy, she's an Italian Wine Scholar with highest honors, VIA certified Italian Wine Ambassador and she travels yearly to Italy to further her studies.
