Mary Kirk joins Wine Scholar Guild as Community and Membership Manager

We are thrilled to announce that Mary Kirk will be joining the WSG team as our Community and Membership Manager.

Mary has been part of the WSG family since its beginnings and we are delighted to have her come onboard in this capacity as we know that she will be a great addition not only to our team, but more importantly, to our members!

Some of you already know Mary as she has been accompanying the WSG study trips for a number of years as tour manager. Her role on the trips is to make sure the logistics run smoothly and to provide friendly support to the trip participants.

As WSG Community and Membership Manager, she will continue to provide this same friendly support and will focus on building a stronger network and community between our members around the world, who already share the common passion of wine.

She is enthusiastic about her new role and can’t wait to get started to help bring WSG members closer together and to help the team create more educational wine benefits for our members, so stay tuned!

A little about Mary, she is French-American and has been working in the wine industry in France for over 15 years. In addition to her work with the WSG study trips, she also leads wine events, does wine consulting, and works in wine education. She teaches Sommellerie at Ferrandi Gastronomic school of Paris, as well as the FWS program at the Butler Academy also in Paris.

Fun facts about Mary: She is an avid swimmer and loves yoga. One of her favorite things to on a Sunday morning is to go to her local food market, make a delicious seasonal lunch and pair it with one of her favorite wines. Just this past weekend she cooked a homemade ratatouille (her local market has set up an innovative drive-through service in response to COVID) that she served with black olive tapenade, fresh goat cheese, homemade crouton toasts and a Bandol rosé, Domaine de Terrebrune!

We extend a warm welcome to Mary and look forward to working with her. We are sure that she will be a great addition to our team!
