Congratulations to Thomas Branco Rossmark Schramm, SWS, for achieving highest honors in the Spanish Wine Scholar exam with Celebrare, Brazil.
About Thomas:
I have always been a wine enthusiast. Since I was a young man, I liked to learn and understand about beverages (wine mostly, but also beer and spirits). Some years ago, I decided, alongside my brother, to take these studies more seriously. Two years ago, we started a Instagram profile (@silenusetilica) to share our knowledge, and recently began to offer beverage related services, such as consulting for restaurants.
I passed the following programs/certifications:
- WSET Level 3 in Wines (with Distinction).
- ABS/ASI (Brazilian Sommelier Association in partnership with the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale) Certification
- French Wine Schollar
The WSET and ABS certifications are great, but they are more generalists. I think the WSG programs helped me to get deeper into the most important wine countries. So, they are complementary.
I’m enrolled for the IWS (part 1). I plan to do the part 2 afterwards, then the WSET Diploma program. The SWS, together with the other WSG programs, will certainly help me with this road forward.
The SWS program showed me a lot about Spanish wines, things I didn’t even know existed. This makes me more motived to keep studying and sharing all this knowledge.
