Registration for the IWS Unit 2 online exam-sit

  • The exam is composed of 100 multiple-choice questions and must be completed in 60 minutes.
  • To become an Italian Wine Scholar and receive the IWS credential candidates need to pass the exams for Unit 1 and Unit 2 with a composite score of 75%
  • The scores from both exams are added together and averaged for final assessment.
  • Students with a composite score of 85-90.5 pass with HONORS. Candidates scoring 91-100 pass with HIGHEST HONORS.
  • Online exam candidates must have a computer (tablet not compatible), a good internet connection, a webcam and a microphone with speakers for proctoring purposes.
  • Candidate has one year from registration date to take the exam.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Italian Wine Scholar Unit II (and I). It really has opened up a great interest and given me a very valuable understanding of Italian wines - the history geography geology etc adds to the learning so well and makes it even more interesting. Am recommending the WSG courses to all my wine friends (I have done the French WS as well).

The IWS is definitely the most complete Program about Italian Wines in the market. It gives you the knowledge to fully understand the wines of this country including grape varieties regions appellations history and much more. I recommend it very much!

If you are an enthusiast about wine you should go to any wine course. If you really want to go deep in knowing everything about wines from Italy (or Spain and/or France) you must go for a WSG course!

I would highly recommend this course for anyone who seriously wants to take a deep dive into Italian wine. The content covers the hundreds of DOC/DOCGs, and their fascinating native grape varieties in great detail, not only giving you a great understanding of the wines but also the history and culture of every Italian wine region.

Now that I have completed all four WSG offerings , France, Spain , Italy 1 and Italy 2, I am feeling totally lost .

Please WSG, give us some more !

As an enthusiastic amateur I found the whole experience suited my current level of knowledge and my desire for more

I would recommend these courses to anyone who is interested in improving their knowledge and enjoyment of wine

The IWS is by far the most comprehensive program about Italian wines. With WSC I discovered and understood dynamics about Italian wine that are hard to find in other programs, depens into the history, geography, traditions of each individual region as a starting point
to describe the grape varieties used and the different denominations of origin.
Not only can you get to know Italian wine in depth, but discover the whole Italy!

I loved the IWS program (U1 and U2) because it gave a good overview and somewhat in depth look into Italy's many DOC and DOCGs and their grapes. It was a good challenge to conquer the history and appellations of the 20 regions. Now, I feel almost complete (I still need to taste all the native grapes ;)) in my Italian wine studies, or have I only started. After completing the IWS and VIA certifications, I can say my journey into Italy has only begun, proper! I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn Italy without being overwhelmed.
